If I remember right, as the story goes Moses got in some hot water with god later after the sea parting, for taking responsibility for some manna from heaven that he didn't create, or some such. He was forgiven, so I can't see why you wouldn't be for such a trivial thing.

It depends on if you're superstitious like that, I guess. I tend not to be.

Last time I was up there, including us there were like 4 groups waiting on one. I thought hell, I passed OV on the way up, and there were only two groups waiting on hole one. WTH?

4 groups at hole 1 at Finnon! - This is good news and I'm glad to hear it. The course is playing as good as ever, and it's nice to know other people are coming out to play it - Not just us locals. I hope you enjoyed the course 180gROC.

No I'm not the religion type - Probably why I screwed it up.

I never could figure out how me paying for a new roof for the church every ten years or so was going to get me into heaven.

A job, maybe, a girl, possibly... Church is the original myspace, great for networking.  Into Heaven? I dunno... Seems a bit convenient. Pay 10% of your gross and be forgiven...  huh... go figure god would need money. Whoda thunk it?

I've enjoyed the course every time I've been up. I've always been a fan of verticality in disc golf. Engage that third dimension, that's what it's there for! Stoked to hear there's an active war on poison oak. The older I get, the worse that stuff gets me.

How did yours work out? Did it get bad after the work party?

Glad you enjoy the course - I do even though it tends to kick my butt most of the time. My best there is a 66 or +1. Now with the 2 new holes. mid 70's and I'm cool with my round. Pro's playing well should be able to log some pretty good scores there.

Actually I did get some oak after working. I scrubed with rubbing alcohol after and that helps a ton. I know you never really get immuned to the stuff but, after last winter when we did the lions share of the work. I had it pretty bad for about 2 and a half months straight. Now when I get it, it doesen't seem to last as long. I'm really trying to get the playing areas claered by spring. I know cutting it down doesent kill it but I would rather spray a 6 inch plant the a 3 foot plant. My next attack area will be hole 4, 14 and 15.

Thank you for the feed back - Hope to meet you out there one day.

When I was growing up I could wallow in the stuff, and I did. We had a cabin out in the redwoods, and the blackberries we picked as kids were surrounded by p. oak. Then one day when I was a teen I got it bad, all of a sudden. Not sure how that works...

My understanding is that once the toxins bind with your proteins, yer screwed. That happens pretty quick. I would guess that rubbing alcohol would kill the spread of the excess oil. I learned not to take a hot shower for sure. That just loosens up the oils and pushes it around into new and exciting areas.

You cutting and spraying efforts are totally appreciated!

I've heard that allergies and immunities in the body can work on 7 year cycles.  Like for 7 years, you can get it bad, and the next 7, you won't seem to get it.  While I can't confirm it, I will say I went through many years where I got poison ivy much less.  I thought it was because I got better at spotting it, but then I started getting it every time I played again.  So maybe there's something to it.

And Tecnu is your friend - use it right when you come into contact and it severely cuts down your risk.

I hope I'm starting the "good" cycle!!! - What seems to work against me is during work parties I'm sweating and the pores on my skin are wide open so it jumps right on in and I can't clean myself right then and there. Here is one I've never tried but a nurse told me about it. Before you get into it, dust yourself with corn strarch and when you touch it the oils absurb into the corn strarch and not your skin. Sounds kinda funky so I've never tried it.

I'm running my Superbowl tourny this week at Lions but I'm hoping to be back hacking P-oak out at Finnon very soon!!! DIE POISON OAK DIE!

I get poison oak HORRIBLY whenever I come in contact with it.. Technu doesn't even stop it... the only thing that I have found that will kill the poison oak after you have it is from Spring Hill Pharmacy in Grass Valley... it's a Poison Oak Gel that Dr. Demartini made himself... its made from a hydroalcoholic gel.. and it dries the P.O. out in two days tops!  It works wonders!

GVDiscr - I have some stuff from my local pharmacy that sounds simalar and it dries it out pretty good. Another good thing is Hot tubs because the clorine cleans and dries it out. - I'm assuming "GV" is for Grass Valley and I'm sure it's as bad there as in P*ville. I'll never question peoples sensativity to it that is for sure. But I would like to say that I can play Finnon and not get it about 95% of the time. I just want the course cleaned of it so if your throw isn't perfect you don't have to worry about getting a massive rash. The other 5% is usually just a dot of it - of course that dot itches like crazy.
Good Times!

Hmmm, I only throw perfect drives straight down the fairway.  Maybe I *should* play Finnon.

Mosquito Volenteer Fire Assoc. is having a campsite clean up workparty this Saturday at Finnon. Me and Probably some Hangtown guys are gunna help out a spread some DG love since these people were the ones who let DG come. Couple weeks ago Shane and I did some burning on hole 9 and hole 11 - Hole 9 the fairway is much better, we burned all the piles of crap and did some more limming. Hole 11 we try to burn that giant pile of swagg but it didn't burn down as much as we would have like. We for got our chain saws which didn't help. Oh well - on ward and up ward.

With all the rain lately -we moved pin 18 to the old practice area - Last week it was about 6 ft from the waters edge and if the lake keeps going up it was gunna be under water. Might play more as a par 4 now??

Last Saturday we had another good work party - Hole 5 got much needed limming around the pin. Hole 8 we burned that huge pile of swagg and dragged the fairway clear. This hole still need more love but it's getting better. Hole 13 and 14 got some fairway clean up. 14 looks really good now. Hole 15 got some tee work - Hole 16 we burned all that swagg that was laying all over the fairway. 16 play awesome now - plus I clipped a ton of P-oak there. - Thanks to Mike S. Chris P. Shane P Chris D and anyone I forgot or didn't know you were there. This course is playing as good as it ever has so I highly recommend taking that long and winding road out there before the grass gets tall and the heat returns.

Another great work party went down on Saturday! Hole 4 got widened and cleaned up - Hole 7 I dug in a tee spot so you don't have to throw on a slope anymore. Hole 8 we did more cleaning and burning. Hole 12 we put in a new pin position, still needs more work but it's a good new putting zone. Hole 15 clean up the fairway and burned. All I can say is one day this course will be on a lot of peoples fav list. I went to go play it on Sunday and gues what? Lot of people playing! ABout 10 to 15 cars worth. There is the funky finnon update. Come play.
